Shelter - Il film

Buonasera a tutti!
E' davvero passato troppo tempo dall'ultima volta che ho postato in questo blog ma vi prometto che cercerò di aggiornarlo il più spesso possibile d'ora in poi.
Stasera, invece di un libro, vi voglio consigliare un film, anche se penso che molti di voi l'avranno già visto.

Si tratta di "Shelter".

Shelter è un film americano del 2007  scritto e diretto da Jonah Markowitz. Gli attori principali sono Trevor Wright, Brad Rowe, e Tina Holmes. Ha vinto il premio come "Outstanding Film – Limited Release" al GLAAD Awards del  2009, come "Best New Director e Favorite Narrative Feature" al Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival, e il People's Choice Award come "Best Feature at the Vancouver Queer Film Festival".

Shelter rappresenta il debutto alla regia di Markowitz.

TRAMA:
Zach (Trevor Wright) è un aspirante artista e vive a San Pedro, in California.  Ha rinunciato al suo sogno di andare alla scuola d'arte per lavorare e aiutare sua sorella Jeanne (Tina Holmes), il padre disabile e suo nipote di  cinque anni, Cody (Jackson Wurth). Zach passa il suo tempo libero dipingendo, disegnando murales, surfando e uscendo con il suo migliore amico Gabe (Ross Thomas), oltre che con la sua ragazza (a momenti alterni) Tori (Katie Walder).Quando il fratello maggiore di Gabe, Shaun (Brad Rowe) torna a casa da Los Angeles per alcune settimane, Zach intreccia con lui un rapporto di amicizia.  Shaun, che è uno scrittore, incoraggia Zach a prendere il controllo della propria vita e a perseguire la sua ambizione di andare al CalArts, una grande università statale dedicata all'arte. Una notte, dopo una festa, Zach e Shaun si scambiano un bacio, ma Zach non è pronto a lasciarsi andare. E' confuso e non sa quello che vuole, ma l'attrazione e il sentimento che prova per Shaun non sono facili da ignorare.

Non vi svelo tutta la trama perchè non vorrei mai rovinarvi la visione, ma spero di avervi invogliato a guardare questo film che è davvero un piccola perla di tenerezza. 


Vi lascio con due video (ovviamente spoilerosi).
Notevole anche la colonna sonora. Due delle mie canzoni preferite sono proprio quelle che sono state usate qui e sono entrambe di Shane Mack.
